     I own and operate White Loaf Ridge Management Company (WLR), a farm direct marketing management firm with a team of three employees. Our company’s mission is to help ensure that progressive family farm businesses can satisfy the desired lifestyles of the family members and owners who operate them.
I serve as executive director of the North American Farmers’ Direct Marketing Association. I was once employed as a marketing specialist with the Massachusetts Department of Food and Agriculture in the early ’80s, and I later served for 12 years as director of the Federation of Massachusetts Farmers’ Markets. 
     But, my passion for, and interest in, family farms began in the crib. I grew up on an egg production farm in Southampton, MA. I continue to maintain this 98-acre family farm today, producing specialty livestock and hay and operating a managed woodlot.
By combining my off-farm organizing skills with farm life experiences, I have developed a strong expertise in farm direct marketing innovations,  family farm business management, group dynamics, agricultural conference implementation, and association management.
I now offer this one-on-one consulting service so I can help progressive individual farmers jump several years ahead. I give sound advice against wasting hundreds of man hours and thousands of dollars and provide you with innovative ideas that will generate increased farm income and decreased family stress for years to come.
